Back Up Your Speech App

Everyone should back up their customized vocabulary boards frequently. If your speech app is accidentally deleted or modified, or you need to send your device in for repair, you will have a copy to restore quickly.

We recommend using Dropbox for your backups. You can sign up for a free Dropbox basic account at dropbox.com/basic or through the Dropbox app if you have it installed on your device. 

Below are instructions on how to back up different speech apps.

TouchChat

1. On the main vocabulary page, tap Menu-Import/Export Vocab
2. Tap Dropbox and choose Export to Dropbox. Link your Dropbox account and click Okay.
3. Select Vocab and tap Upload.

Proloquo2Go

1. Enable access to Dropbox: Go to Options (gear symbol) on the bottom toolbar. Tap Backup and toggle Dropbox “on” (you will need to sign into Dropbox.)
2. Select Export Backup and find the file you want to export.
3. Select Export to Dropbox.

TD Snap

Before starting, make sure the Dropbox app is installed on your QuickTalker Freestyle and you are signed into your Dropbox account in the app. If you do not have the Dropbox app installed, contact the ableCARE Product Success Team for assistance.

1. In the upper right corner of the screen, select the settings gear/pencil icon.
2. From the bottom of the screen, select the Page Set tab.
3. Select the name of the page set you would like to back up.
4. Select the floppy disk save icon.
5. Select Save a copy to a local file.
6. Select Next
7. Exit the TD Snap app, and open the Files app on the QuickTalker Freestyle.
8. Select Recents from the options on the left side of the screen. You should see the .sps file you just exported from the TD Snap app. 
9. Open your file by selecting it. In the upper right corner of the screen, select the icon that has an arrow facing up and a square. 
10. Select Dropbox from the options.
11. Select Upload. 

LAMP WFL

1. On the main vocab page, select the Menu button and select Import/Export Vocab.
2. Select Dropbox and Export to Dropbox. Link your Dropbox account.
3. Select the vocabulary that you would like to backup and select Upload.

Speak for Yourself

1. Select the Options button (gear symbol) in the top right corner.
2. Select Vocabulary and Backup the Vocabulary and Photos
3. Select Send a Backup to Dropbox, link your account, and Tap Done.

Grid for iPad

1. Select the three dots in the top right corner and tap Settings.
2. Select your username and tap Backup, Restore & Delete User
3. Select Backup User and Save to Dropbox. Link your account and select Save.

GoTalk Now

1. On the main page, select the arrow next to the book you would like to backup and tap Back Up/Restore.
2. Select via Dropbox and link your account.
3. Select Backup to Dropbox and tap Create.
