Overview
This article explains what the ‘iPad Unavailable’ screen means and provides guidance on restoring your QuickTalker Freestyle to normal functionality.
The meaning of the ‘iPad Unavailable’ screen
iPad Unavailable appears on the screen when your QuickTalker Freestyle has been locked due to repeated incorrect passcode attempts. It means you cannot access the device until the issue is resolved. This typically happens as a security measure to prevent unauthorized access. Once this screen appears indefinitely, you will be required to reset the device, and all data on the QuickTalker Freestyle will be lost, and can only be restored if it was previously backed up.
How do I restore my QuickTalker Freestyle to normal?
There are several methods for restoring your QuickTalker Freestyle from this screen. Some are easier than others, so consider each option.
Submitting a QuickTalker Freestyle warranty request
Our most recommended way to restore your device is to submit a warranty request form and send it to AbleNet. Once we receive your device, we will swap it out for a refurbished device, configure it, and send it back overnight. We will ensure that the AAC application your device originally shipped within is configured. However, any personal data or applications will not be loaded and will need to be restored once you receive your device back.

You can also restore your device using your computer. If you want to attempt this, please refer to the guide below.
